a partnership to support Rotary International's #1 goal of a
Polio-Free world. The $100 million grant from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is the largest single grant ever given to a volunteer
service organization.

In October 2002 a group of more than 65 Rotarians from Seattle paid their own way to travel about halfway around the world to Ethiopia. There they worked for a week to support the local health workers in the administration of oral polio vaccine and vitamin A during the National Immunization Days. Since that time, many more Rotarians have followed in their footsteps, bringing the vaccine, hope, and love to thousands of Ethiopian children.
